Last night we visited Ørsted Ølbar to get a few craft beers, but G&T lovers as we are, we ended up having a single G&T anyway. Ørsted has quite a nice selection of Gins, and are using Fentimans as their mixer.

Ørsted ølbar and G&T!
Ginto Smartphone App
Recently we stumbled upon Ginto a Gin app, which has some pretty cool features!
In this post we'll write a short review of the app, and tell you why we like it!
Features
The overview of activity in the app, with featured Gins and newly added Gins
A personal list of gins with a Wishlish, a Tasted list and My Collection list
Why we like it!
The wishlist feature is very neat, and it helps you keep a track of which gins you want to taste in the future. The only downside of the wishlists is that it is a wishlist, and therefore means that is not the gins you have right now. We want to taste them right now :)
The app also gives you a good overview off which gins you have already tasted. On the front page of the app you get information of the highest rated gins and which ones are popular at the moment. When you click on a gin you will get some quick info about the gin and as a plus you also get info of which tonics to pair it with. The app also gives you different G&T-recipes which is a quite nice feature. If you need some new takes on the G&T you will have the inspiration right in your pocket.
If you are searching for a good app which can give you both a overview of the gins you tasted, the gins you wanna taste and recipes this is the app to go for.
The app is free and can be downloaded here:
Copenhagen Dry Gin
I was so lucky as to receive a bottle of Copenhagen Dry Gin for my birthday last weekend. Because of work and other gins, we haven't had a chance to taste it till tonight.
So we mixed up a really clean G&T without any added flavors, just Fevertree tonic and Copenhagen Dry Gin. And we're pretty surprised by a heavy sweetness but also a good bitterness. The gin is distilled from honey and i believe the sweetness stems from this. Also it's a very clean gin, in the sense that there is only added junipers and nothing else. So tastewise it's a very clean, dry and sweet gin.
In the future we're planning to garnish with either rosemary, thyme, cucumber or lime, just to mix it up a bit.
All in all the Copenhagen Dry Gin is a very good gin, that we're looking forward to experiementing with.
One... Two... Well it is friday!
This combination of the flavorful Hven gin, with the very balanced tonic and the hint of rosemary makes for a very complex and refreshing G&T. It works as a great digestive on top of a lovely dinner of charcuterie and cheese.
Recipe:
5 cl of Hven gin12 cl of Fevertree Tonic
1 small branch of fresh rosemary
Lots of ice
Served in a tumbler.
Our very first G&T after launching Ginnerds.com
To celebrate that we launched this blog where we will share our passion for G&T, we have made a fully danish G&T. The gin we have chosen actually fits rather perfectly with our love for good beer aswell. Mikkeller, the danish beer guru, has made a gin with lots of hops. Just as we like it. The gin is quite bitter and the ABV is 44, so it is a bit strong. We chose to pair it with an organic tonic from Naturfrisk, which is a danish producer. The tonic is quite sweet but it actually fits perfect with the bitter high ABV gin.
We topped the G&T with a small wedge of lime to break the sweetness even more.
It was a great after work G&T.
Recipe:
5 cl Mikkeller ginlots of ice
10-12cl Naturfrisk Tonic
Wedge of lime
Combine all the ingredients in a tumbler glass.
